Rep. Abass Adigun Named Chairman House Committee On Drugs and Narcotics.

Member, House of Representatives, representing Ibadan North-East/South-East Federal Constituency, Hon. Abass A. Adigun (Agboworin) has been announced as the chairman of the House of Representatives committee for Drugs and Narcotics.

The Speaker House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas made this announcement on Thursday alongside other names of lawmakers who will chair the 134 standing committees in the green chamber of the National Assembly.

In the 9th National Assembly, Hon. Abass was the vice – chairman of the House committee on Air force.

He was selected for the position due to the knowledge, understanding and experience he had during his time in the United States Of America Naval Forces before coming back to Nigeria to join politics.

Hon. Abass new role as the chairman house committee on drugs and Narcotics will charge drug policy and control, curtail illicit production, importation, exportation, sale and trafficking of psychoactive substances, to prepares and monitors policy documents addressing the drug problem, enforcement and control of narcotic control laws, education and prevention of the use of narcotics and Treatment, rehabilitation and social reintegration of narcotic addicts.

Hon. Agboworin said a big thank you to the good people of Ibadan North-East/South-East Federal Constituency who voted him to represent them at the Green Chamber of the National Assembly for the Second Term.
