Member, House of Representatives, representing Ibadan North-East/South-East Federal Constituency, Vice-chairman House Committee On Airforce, Hon. Abass A. Adigun (Agboworin) hosted his yearly new year(2023) cup in Ibadan North-East LG and Ibadan South-East LG which was played among 16 football clubs within his federal constituency.
The third place match was played between Mighty Star and Unique fc which ended in 2 goals to 1 in favour of Mighty Star Odinjo while General Meme fc from Ibadan North-East LG defeated Oke Ola fc of Ibadan South-East LG on penalty by 4 – 2.
Hon. Abass Adigun donated 4 football jerseys to General Meme fc, Oke-ola fc, Mighty Star Odinjo and Unique Fc while other 12 teams who did make the final or third place received full training kit each, and also cash price was given to the fourth place, Unique fc from Ibadan North-East LG, third place winner Mighty star Odinjo of Ibadan South-East LG, the runners up Oke-Ola fc in Ibadan South-East LG and the winner of the tournament General Meme was given a huge sum of amounts who came first, second and third respectively including match officials and coaches.
Hon. Abass Balogun, Hon. Kazeem Kareem, Hon. Ridwan Opakunle, Mr. Wasiu Kongi (P. A To Hon. Abass Adigun), Former Ward 8 Chairman Adekola Adisa Simba-J and also Ibadan South-East LG Supervising Counsellors For Youths and Sports, Hon. Aremu Ibraheem represented Hon. Abass Adigun at the final match which took place at Wesley College Football Pitch, Elekuro Ibadan where cash prizes were presented to participants football teams.
Hon. Abass Agboworin has reassured that communities across his federal constituency would keep enjoying the dividends of democracy from his effective and qualitative representation at the Green chamber of the National Assembly, Abuja.
