The Member representing Ibadan North-East/South-East Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rep. Abass Adigun (Agboworin), has congratulated teachers across Nigeria on the occasion of this year’s Teachers’ Day.
Agboworin described teachers as nation builders whose dedication, passion and commitment continue to shape the minds and character of future generations.
He said the role of teachers goes beyond imparting academic knowledge, noting that they also help to build responsible citizens, develop character and prepare young people for the future.
According to him, “Today, we celebrate the dedication, passion and impact of every teacher. We appreciate your sacrifices and the important role you play in shaping minds, building character and creating a better tomorrow.”
The lawmaker, who is the Chairman of the House Committee on Narcotics Drugs, stressed the need for greater recognition and support for teachers, saying a strong education system depends largely on motivated and well-supported educators.
He added that investing in teachers is an investment in the future of Nigeria, as “better teachers will produce brighter futures.”
Agboworin commended teachers in his constituency and across Oyo State for their commitment to educating and mentoring young Nigerians, assuring them of his continued support for initiatives that promote quality education and improve learning conditions.
He wished all teachers a happy and rewarding Teachers’ Day celebration.
