The Executive Chairman of Ibadan North-west Local Government, Alh AbdulRahman Olanrewaju Adepoju has been described as a selfless leader and politician who judiciously utilised the resources within his purview for the benefits of his people.
Making the commendation was the Oyo State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftiancy matters, Hon. Olusegun Olayiwola at the Official Commissioning of Solar Electrification project installed at Agbaje Market by the Executive Chairman of Ibadan Northwest Local Government.
The Honourable Commissioner commended the Executive Chairman for his prudence and determination in ensuring that dividends of democracy were felt in all the nooks and crannies of the local government. He said, ‘inspite of paucity of funds in the local government, the Chairman was able to embark on physical projects like poultry, fishery , solar Electrification among others. His commitment to self help projects must be emulated”
In his remarks, the Executive Chairman, Alh AbdulRahman Adepoju reiterated that all physical projects embarked on since his assumption of office were in fulfilment of the campaign promises he made to the people of the local government. He maintained that the installation of the solar light at Agbaje Market was to provide a conducive business environment for the traders. He stressed that his administration is determined to ensure that there is adequate illumination across major streets, Markets and communities within the Council areas to prevent hoodlums from carrying out nefarious activities.
Alh Adepoju appreciated His Excellency, Engr Oluwaseyi Makinde for his remarkable achievements in the Omituntun 2.0 among which the light-up program crosses major roads in Ibadan and Oyo state in general. The Council Boss assured that all infrastructural projects to be executed during his tenure in office will be in tandem with the visions of His Excellency in OMITUNTUN 2.0 for the people of Oyo State
In her welcome address to the Head of Local Government Administration or the Council, Mrs. Olaronke Ige joined traders of Agbaje Market and environs to cooperate with the present administration by paying necessary Levies as t when due as this will assist in providing more social amenities within the council area and the state in general.
In their separate remarks, the leader of the market, Elder Olorode, and Mogaji Baba Anwo appreciated the chairman for the gestures accorded them in Agbaje Market. They promised their unflinching support for the Governor and the Chairman for the growth of the Council and the state as a whole.
Making his remarks, the project Consultant, Engr Olofinjana, appreciated the Chairman and the trust he and his working cabinet had in him to handle the project. He affirmed that the project was of good quality and service for the benefit and usage of the residents.
Present at the occasion were the Vice Chairman, Alh Ganiy Abiodun Omotosho, State PDP Secretary, Alh Wasiu Adeleke, Ibadan Northwest State Assembly Honorable, Hon.Dawood Olalere, leader of the House Hon Kazeem Arowodana, Assistant Secretary Mrs. Bola Oladeji, Chief of Staff, Hon Kazeem Fantola and Alh Labule. Others are Councillors Supervisory Councillors, PDP Stakeholders, management, and staff of Ibadan Northwest Local Government by the Head of Local Government Administration, Mrs Olaronke Ige.
