It’s been five years since the demise of an elder brother, friend, senior comrade, reliable ally, and support system, Comrade Yemi Likedat. On this day five years ago, you transitioned to the great beyond, leaving the pains and struggles of this world. The memory of your demise still hurts those of us you left behind, but we are always comforted by the belief that you are in a better place.
As we mark 5 years of remembrance of your passing into glory, we remember your unwavering love and support for youth and student development; we remember your belief in the greatness of this country; we remember your dexterity is advancing social courses that yield positive societal changes; we remember your loyalty to those you love, trust, and care about; and most importantly, I remember your kindness, commitment, resilience, and truth in our friendship. I want you to know that I am always proud of you, our friendship, and the social and political courses for which you fought. Your resilience and doggedness kept people like me moving, believing that the light that you shone on our paths will lead us towards greatness, both for self and country. Thank you for all that you represented, and more thanks for being a remarkable force for good during your lifetime. Your family, friends, and I want you to know that we love you, and you will always be in our hearts. Your legacies will continue to shine. Goodnight, and keep resting in the bosom of our Lord Jesus Christ until that glorious morning when we shall meet to part no more.
