The ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) felicitates Engr. Seyi Makinde on the occasion of his 55th birthday describing the governor as an embodiment of a true democrat.
The ruling party in a press statement on Sunday by its State Publicity Secretary, Akeem Olatunji said the general acceptability of Governor Makinde by the people of the state due to his purposeful leadership has given the assurances of electoral victory in 2023.
This was as the party affirmed that Makinde’s birthday has become symbolically significant in the history of Oyo state as it has become a unifying annual event which brings together all tribes and religion to a single gathering to celebrate love and togetherness.
While assuring Makinde that his 56th birthday celebration will still be in Agodi Government House as the executive Governor, the party maintained that ‘SeyiBayo’ an acronym for the joint candidacy of the Governor and his deputy, remains God’s own project.
“God has truly used Governor Makinde to restore the lost glory of Oyo state and we can once again raise our heads up high as proud sons and daughters of the state. Only God know what our testimonies would be if He in His infinite grace hasn’t sent him to the rescue in 2019.” Oyo PDP said.
The ruling PDP also said Makinde’s tenure has brought nothing else to the state other than joy, laughter, celebrations, and prosperity because of his people centered policies and programs even amidst dwindling national economic fortunes.
Making inference to the Holy scriptures, Oyo state PDP noted that Makinde who many pesimists thought could not turn the fortunes of the state around owning to the sorry condition of the state economy when he took over in 2019, has now become the template for good governance in Nigeria.
“We want to assure our ‘God sent man’, Governor Seyi Makinde that because his birthday has become symbolically significant in the history of our state as an annual event that brings us all together in the celebration of live and togetherness, we shall all be gathered to celebrate his 56th birthday as the Executive Governor of Oyo state.
“His performance and achievements in less than 4 years have made our job of political campaign less tedious because our results already precedes our campaign train everywhere we go. We’re indeed very proud to have been the party that produced the ‘starboy’ as the Governor because its now more or less a blank cheque for a second term.” The ruling PDP added.
