Nigeria @ 65: Asiwaju Olayinka Segelu Felicitates Nigerians, Charges Collective Will to Build a Better Future

Independence Day Message

My dear people of Oyo State and fellow Nigerians,

Today, we proudly mark Nigeria’s 65th Independence Day — a day that reminds us of the courage, sacrifice, and vision of our founding fathers who, in 1960, secured for us the right to determine our own destiny.

In these 65 years, our nation has faced trials and triumphs, setbacks and successes. We have seen the strength of our unity in diversity, the resilience of our people, and the potential of our land and resources. Nigerians everywhere continue to show the world that we are a people of talent, dignity, and unshakable spirit.

On this day of reflection and renewal, I must commend the leadership of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his tireless efforts to steer our nation through challenging times, laying foundations for growth and stability.

Equally, I extend my heartfelt respect to His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, FNSE, whose vision and people-centered governance continue to inspire hope and development in Oyo State. His dedication to education, infrastructure, and welfare has proven that with sincere leadership, progress is possible.

Yes, challenges remain — in governance, in infrastructure, in youth empowerment, and in economic stability. But as a people, we must not lose hope. Every great nation has passed through difficult seasons before rising to its full glory. Nigeria’s future will not be written by doubt or despair, but by our collective will to build a better tomorrow.

As we celebrate today, let us renew our commitment to peace, progress, and justice. Let us believe once more in the Nigeria of our dreams — a nation where hard work is rewarded, where our children’s hopes are secured, and where every citizen can live with dignity and pride.

On this Independence Day, I call on all of us in Oyo State and beyond to stand together, to dream together, and to work together. The promise of Nigeria is still alive, and together, we will make it a reality.

Happy Independence Day, Nigeria!
God bless Oyo State.
God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Signed,
Chief Olayinka Segelu
PDP Governorship Aspirant, Oyo State
