Governor Seyi Makinde is aware that education not only develops people’s knowledge and abilities but also shapes their personalities as young people of a country.
Due to the previous government’s lackadaisical approach toward education, the glory of the state’s educational system had previously been lost.
But we are grateful to Almighty God for sending us a pragmatic, intellectual, and youth-oriented governor who places a high value on education.
In 2019, he promptly suspended 3,000 fees that were being paid by each student at government schools around the state after taking office as the executive governor of Oyo state. His goal was to make education free so that those who were less fortunate may have access to it.
Additionally, Governor Seyi Makinde began building schools in each zone, giving the students a conducive environment in which to learn.
With the employment of 5000 instructors to offer our education sector efficiency and ensure that the students receive adequate attention, and, also, the quick payment of teachers at the secondary level down to the tertiary level in the State cannot be underestimated.
He exploits his leadership abilities in a show of generosity to secure Ladoke Akintola University’s exclusive ownership from the state of Osun, we will remember that the ownership dispute had an awful impact on the students and caused protracted strike actions, inconveniencing both the varsity students and employees. However, SEYI MAKINDE, a man sent by God, was able to fix the error and bring back the LAUTECH lost glory.
Additionally, he has attempted to upgrade the Emmanuel Alayande College of Education in Oyo to a university of Education to give the state possibility to have more universities. If this is successful, it will be good for the state.
He has also made it possible for the state-owned tertiary institution to reduce tuition by 10%. It is also important to not undervalue his sponsorship of low-income students attending technical universities.
The aforementioned points are the achievement of Engr. Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde in reclaiming the lost glory of the Education sector in the state.
