Alleged Impeachment Plot Against Gov Makinde Won’t See The Light Of The Day – Agboworin

…says agents of destabilization will fail

A member of the House of Representatives, Abass Adigun Agboworin, on Tuesday, dismissed as futile any alleged plot to impeach Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, insisting that such moves are dead on arrival and will not see the light of day.

Agboworin, in a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mayowa Okekale, described those behind the alleged plot as agents of destabilization, whose mission is to create unnecessary tension within the state and weaken the unity of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

According to him, their efforts will ultimately fail as the people and stakeholders in Oyo remain solidly behind the governor.

“People are waiting for us to come out, and we are fully prepared. We are ready to follow Governor Makinde wherever he is going,” he said, emphasizing the unwavering loyalty and commitment of the party faithful.

The two term lawmaker also noted that “these supporters are diehard loyalists who believe strongly in Makinde’s leadership and developmental strides across the state.“

The lawmaker further warned against any form of external interference in the affairs of the governor, stressing that such influence should be kept away from Makinde’s political family and the internal dynamics of the state.

He expressed strong confidence in the level of support within the legislature, stating that no fewer than 95 percent of members of the House of Assembly and House of Representatives are firmly aligned with Governor Seyi Makinde.

He maintained that those attempting to sow discord are merely seeking to destabilize the PDP, but will not succeed.

Agboworin, however, urged party members and supporters to remain calm, united, and focused, noting that cohesion within the party remains the strongest weapon against any form of political distraction or engineered crisis.
