Lawmaker representing the Ibadan South East/North East federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Rep. Abass Adigun Agboworin, has congratulated the Chairman, Committee on Appropriation, Abubakar Kabir Bichi, on his conferment of an honorary Doctorate Degree by the Federal University, Dutsin-Ma.
Agboworin, who is a two-term lawmaker, in a congratulatory message personally signed, noted that the Doctor of Engineering Award (Honoris Causa) was a milestone achieved by the lawmaker in his efforts towards improving quality education in the country and his service to humanity in general.
He also noted that Bichi had, over the years, has empowered hundreds of women and youths with start-up grants who have become self-reliant.
The lawmaker urged him to continue to work with his colleagues at the National Assembly to prioritise the improvement of academic institutions to make them globally competitive.
“While congratulating Honourable Abubakar Bichi for getting this all-important award, I wish to state that the gesture will surely spur him to render more service to humanity.
“I am sure that he would continue to do those things that made the Federal University Dutsin-ma recognise him for this honour and do them better,” Agboworin stated.
