Member, House of Representatives, representing Ibadan North-East/South-East Federal Constituency, Chairman House Committee On Narcotic Drugs, Rep. Abass A. Adigun (Agboworin), on Tuesday, displayed outstanding leadership qualities and sincerity of purpose.
The lawmaker facilitated a poverty alleviation empowerment of disable and vulnerable persons in Ibadan North-East/South-East Federal Constituency.
The empowerment was in conjunction with National Directorate of Employment (NDE), a programme designed to boost the economic well-being of the people living with disability.
The initiative was part of the lawmaker quest to help the special people to become self-reliant and also improve their economic status in their various communities, which are always human-oriented and are always towards building a better tomorrow for the people of his constituency.
Chest freezers and start-up capital were given to the participants to kick-start their businesses.
Appreciating the lawmaker, Olubode Mojeed expressed delight that the federal lawmaker has, through various entrepreneurship programs, improved the living standards of his constituents through empathetic and people-centred representation.
The event was attended by dignitaries, including Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke (PDP State Secretary), Hon. Dare Adeleke, PDP Caretaker Chairman, Ekiti State; Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade, Chairman, Ibadan North Local Government; Hon. Adebanjo “Bigger,” Vice Chairman, PDP Ibadan Southeast; Hon. Isiaka Fatokun, PDP Chairman, Ibadan Northeast; Hon. Kehinde Akande, Chairman, Ibadan Southwest Local Government.
Others in attendance include Mrs. Steve-Ogundipe Olayinka, Director, NDE Oyo State, Hon. Yinka Omikunle, Hon. Abiodun Babalola and Barrister Dare Adekanmbi, Director-General, Oyo State Agency for People Living with Disabilities.
