APM GUBER 2027: I Sacrificed A Lucrative Career To Serve Oyo State With Integrity – BIMADEK

The Governorship Candidate of the Allied People’s Movement (APM) in Oyo State, Abimbola Adekanmbi (BIMADEK), has reaffirmed his commitment to transparency, integrity, and selfless public service, stating that his entry into government was driven by a genuine desire to contribute to the development of Oyo State rather than personal gain.

According to Hon. Abimbola Adekanmbi BIMADEK, he willingly left a highly rewarding job where he earned the equivalent of £1,200 daily to accept a public service position that paid just N350,000 monthly in 2011. He noted that the decision was motivated by his passion to deploy his knowledge, expertise, and resources for the benefit of the people of Oyo State.

“I did not join public service because of money. I left a career that paid me far more because I believed I could contribute meaningfully to the growth and development of our state. Throughout my years in office, I served diligently, committed myself to excellence, and always placed public interest above personal considerations,” he said.

BIMADEK further emphasized that since leaving office as Commissioner For Finance, he has never contacted anyone to conceal files, manipulate records, or cover up any aspect of his stewardship.

“My record speaks for itself. Since I left the office as Commissioner, I have never called anyone to hide files or cover for me. I served with integrity, and I remain proud of every responsibility entrusted to me. Accountability should be the hallmark of public leadership,” he added.

For the records, Hon. Bimbo was a former Chairman community service development, former deputy chief of staff, former acting chairman internal revenue, former acting Chief of Staff and later commissioner for finance.

He maintained that Oyo State deserves leaders with proven character, competence, and a verifiable record of service, pledging to offer purposeful leadership that prioritizes the welfare and progress of all citizens.
