The Member representing Ibadan North-East/Ibadan South-East Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rep. Abass Adigun (Agboworin), has commended the Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, on his declaration to contest the Presidency of the Federal Republic of Nigeria under the platform of the African Peoples Movement (APM).
The lawmaker, in a statement signed by his Media Group, on Thursday, described the decision as bold, courageous and reflective of Governor Makinde’s unwavering commitment to national development, good governance and people-oriented leadership.
According to the federal lawmaker, Governor Makinde’s leadership style, administrative competence and achievements in Oyo State have continued to earn him admiration across the country, noting that his entry into the presidential race would further enrich the national discourse on leadership and development.
“Governor Seyi Makinde has consistently demonstrated vision, capacity and a deep understanding of governance through transformative projects and policies that have positively impacted the lives of the people. His declaration is a major development not only for Oyo State but for Nigeria as a whole,” Agboworin stated.
He further noted that the governor’s emergence on the national stage reflects the growing desire among Nigerians for visionary, pragmatic and result-driven leadership capable of repositioning the country for greater progress and unity.
Agboworin prayed for wisdom, strength and divine guidance for Governor Makinde as he embarks on the journey, while urging Nigerians to support him and other leaders with proven records of service and integrity.
