2023: PMS Statement On Destruction Of Posters And Billboards In Oyo State.

Hon Emiola Jelili
State PRO, Park management System

Over the past few weeks, the opposition party- APC has repeatedly alleged that members of the Park Management System (PMS) under the leadership of Alh Mukaila Lamidi Auxiliary in Oyo state were responsible for the tearing, defacing and destruction of their posters/banners/billboards across the state.

Although the PMS should ordinarily not have responded to these false and baseless accusations, a timely reply is imperative in order to prevent a possible reaction and to also defuse any action that might jeopardise the peace and stability we’re enjoying in Oyo state.

The PMS hereby states that the body is not responsible for the destruction of the posters & billboards of APC candidates or any other party candidates in the state. We also implore the APC to channel its accusations elsewhere and should probably begin to look inwards. It’s no news that the primaries conducted by the opposition APC didn’t go down well with a faction of the party and many members defected to Accord Party resulting to a war of words between members of both parties ever since.

We reiterate that the PMS is solely focused on the discharge of its duties as regards the transportation sector and management of parks.

The State Chairman of Park Management System, Alh Mukaila Lamidi Auxiliary, further assured of the readiness of PMS members to cooperate with the police and other security agencies in the discharge of their duties. The leadership of PMS in Oyo State hereby call on the Police and other security agencies in Oyo state to conduct full investigation on the incident and bring those involved to book.

As we all know that we are already in the political season and any issue that might lead to overheating the polity and a possible break down of law and order in the state should be nipped in the bud before it goes out of hand.
