A socio-political group, GSM Advocates, has said that the late strongman of Ibadan politics, Alhaji Lamidi Adedibu’s curse on Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja is now manifesting in his political career.
The group said the manifestation is evident in Arapaja’s constant defection from one political party to another without political stability or grassroots impact.
The group stated this on Sunday in reaction to recent political developments and comments credited to Arapaja’s camp.
According to the group, Arapaja’s pattern of moving from party to party in search of relevance has vindicated the position held by many of the late Adedibu’s loyalists years ago.
GSM Advocates noted that despite holding several high political offices, Arapaja has struggled to maintain a stable political base, even in his own ward.
“Late Adedibu’s curse on Arapaja is now manifesting with the way he is jumping from one party to another. That is not how a grounded politician behaves,” the group said.
It maintained that true political strength is measured by consistency, loyalty and ability to win at the grassroots, which it said Arapaja lacks.
