“You Can’t Give What You Don’t Have” – Oyo  Residents Blast Senator Sarafadeen Alli, Challenge Him To Name One Item That Has Become Cheaper Under APC

Residents of Oyo South Senatorial District have taken a swipe at Senator Sarafadeen Alli of the All Progressives Congress (APC), questioning his credibility and that of his party to seek votes from the people.

The residents, who spoke during a community engagement in Ibarapa zone on Thursday, said the APC-led Federal Government has brought untold hardship to Nigerians, and that Senator Alli and his party lack the moral standing to ask for the trust of the people.

“You can’t give what you don’t have. How do you want us to trust you and your party which has become synonymous with lies and hardship?” one of the market leaders queried.

The stakeholders challenged Senator Alli to mention a single commodity or item that has become cheaper since the APC came into government at the federal level.

“Let Senator Sarafadeen Alli come out and tell us one thing that has become cheaper since APC got into government. Is it rice? Is it petrol? Is it cement? Is it school fees? Is it house rent? Everything has gone up. Nigerians are suffering,” a youth leader in Ido Local Government said.

They lamented that the cost of living has skyrocketed under the APC administration, with inflation eroding the purchasing power of ordinary Nigerians, while those in government continue to live extravagantly.

According to them, instead of providing solutions and quality representation, Senator Alli and other APC leaders only surface during election periods to deceive the people with stomach infrastructure and monetary inducements.

“We are wiser now. We cannot be deceived by temporary handouts. We need a government that can bring down the cost of food, make life bearable and restore hope to the common man, not a party that has inflicted pain on us for years,” another resident, Mrs. Alimat Adediran, stated.

The residents vowed to reject what they described as deceptive politics and to support a party and candidates with proven track records of empathy, competence and people-centered governance in the 2027 general elections.
