The Member of the House of Representatives representing the Ibadan North-East/South-East Federal Constituency, Rep. Abass Adigun (Agboworin), has distributed educational materials to selected primary and secondary schools in his constituency.
The distribution exercise was held on Monday, September 28, 2026, at the Old Army Barracks, Kajola-Irede Street, Academy, Ibadan.
The educational support programme was organised in conjunction with the National Productivity Centre, in collaboration with Messrs Early Phrase Services Ltd. The initiative was designed to provide essential educational materials to schools within the constituency and support a conducive learning environment for pupils and students.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Abass Adigun, who is also the Chairman of the House Committee on Narcotics, said the initiative was part of his efforts to contribute to the development of education in his constituency.
According to him, the distribution of writing materials, textbooks, notebooks, chairs and tables was intended to support schools while also helping to reduce the financial burden on parents, particularly at the beginning of the new academic session.
He noted that education remains an important investment in the future of young people and expressed his commitment to supporting initiatives that improve access to quality education and create a more conducive environment for students to learn.

The Vice-Chairman of the Ibadan South-East Local Government branch of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Mrs. Oguntola O.O., commended Hon. Agboworin for what she described as his dedication and commitment to the development of education in the constituency.
She highlighted his previous interventions, including after-school tutorial classes, school construction projects and the distribution of educational materials to students. She noted that such initiatives could encourage pupils and students to remain focused on their academic pursuits and future aspirations.
The programme was attended by representatives of beneficiary schools, teachers, community stakeholders and other education stakeholders, who received the materials on behalf of their respective schools.
Representing the Director-General of the National Directorate of Employment (NDE), Mr. Aluko commended Agboworin for providing quality educational materials to support schools in the constituency.
After inspecting the materials, Aluko expressed satisfaction with their quality and urged the beneficiary schools and students to handle them with care, noting that this would encourage Rep. Agboworin to do more in the area of educational intervention programmes.
Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the Oyo State Pension Board, Hon. Akeem Ademola Ige, described Agboworin as a lawmaker who had continued to demonstrate commitment to effective representation across various sectors, including infrastructural development, youth empowerment, employment and, particularly, education.

Akinleye, Special Adviser to the Governor on Youth Development; former House of Assembly member, Hon. Dele Ojo; Prince Akinbiyi; Baba Atoyebi; party chairmen in Ibadan North-East and Ibadan South-East Local Government Areas; Baba Isiaka Fatokun Abuye; Olajide Oluwole; and other local government executives.
