The Member representing Ibadan North East/Ibadan South East Federal Constituency, Rep. Abass Adigun (Agboworin), has congratulated Chief (Barr.) Olumuyiwa Makinde on his elevation to the revered title of Oota Olubadan of Ibadanland, describing the coronation as a well-deserved honour in recognition of his immense contributions to the development of Ibadanland and humanity.
In a statement issued through his Senior Special Assistant on Print Media, Ibraheem Aremu, Agboworin said the elevation of Chief (Barr.) Makinde reflects his unwavering commitment to justice, community service, peace, and the socio-economic advancement of the ancient city.
He noted that the respected legal practitioner and community leader has, over the years, distinguished himself through exemplary leadership, integrity, and dedication to the progress of Ibadanland.
The federal lawmaker also commended the Olubadan-in-Council for preserving the age-long chieftaincy traditions and the peaceful succession process that continue to make the Olubadan Chieftaincy Institution a model of stability and cultural heritage in Nigeria.
He expressed confidence that Chief (Barr.) Makinde would bring dignity, wisdom, and honour to his new traditional responsibility as Oota Olubadan.
Agboworin prayed that Almighty God grants the newly installed Oota Olubadan good health, divine wisdom, and the grace to make meaningful contributions towards the continued peace, unity, and development of Ibadanland and Oyo State.
