The lawmaker representing Ibadan North East/Ibadan South East Federal Constituency, Abass Adigun Agboworin, on Saturday, congratulated Seyi Makinde on his emergence as the presidential candidate of the Allied People’s Movement for the 2027 general election, describing the development as a testament to the confidence reposed in the governor’s leadership and capacity.
Agboworin, in a statement by his Media Group in Ibadan, said Makinde’s emergence did not come as a surprise, considering his track record of purposeful governance, infrastructural development, prudent management of resources, and people-oriented policies in Oyo State.
The federal lawmaker noted that Makinde has demonstrated over the years that effective leadership is anchored on vision, integrity, competence, and commitment to the welfare of the people.
According to him, the governor’s emergence as the APM presidential flagbearer offers Nigerians a unique opportunity to elect a leader with proven administrative experience and a clear understanding of the nation’s developmental challenges.
“Governor Seyi Makinde has distinguished himself as a transformational leader whose achievements in Oyo State have earned him admiration beyond political and regional boundaries.
“His emergence as the presidential candidate of our great party is well deserved and a reflection of the trust and confidence Nigerians have in his leadership abilities,” Agboworin said.
The lawmaker expressed confidence that Makinde possesses the capacity to unite the country, strengthen national institutions, improve security, and drive economic growth if elected president in 2027.
He further urged members of the party and supporters across the country to remain united and committed to the collective goal of building a better Nigeria through credible leadership and good governance.
While praying for wisdom and strength for the presidential candidate as he embarks on the journey ahead, Agboworin expressed optimism that Makinde’s message of inclusive governance, accountability, and national development would resonate with Nigerians ahead of the 2027 general election.
